(Free and you do not need to be an ARRL Member to use the service)
• Ham Study (https://hamstudy.org) Funded by ICOM, this sight has no lessons but practice tests of all
questions. (Free)
• Ham Test Online (https://www.hamradiolicenseexam.com/prices.htm) The Amateur Extra study course cost $29.95 It includes course material as well but practice tests of the full pool of questions (The HamTestOnline site claims that 95% of students pass with 20 hours of study and practice)
• Ham Radio Prep (https://study.hamradioprep.com/order?ct=1e77ecce-87de-4c8a-af56-e880afe731e1) The Amateur Extra course cost $59.00 It includes course material as well as but practice tests of the full pool of questions.

Testing (Once you are getting 90% or higher on 5 tests in a row, you are ready to take your General Exam):
Taking your test in personal locally. Test are held regularly in Laurel, MD; Washington, DC ; Severna Park, MD ; Catonsville, MD ; Davidsonville, MD; & Damascus, MD. (https://hamstudy.org/sessions/21046/inperson)
Take the exam remotely (even the same day) (https://hamstudy.org/sessions/remote).
The cost of an in person runs from FREE ($0.00) to $15.00, while the Cost for the remote test is typical $15.00
And while the FCC charges $35.00 for a new license and for renewals, license modifications to upgrade an
operator class (such as moving from General to Amateur Extra) are exempt from this charge
